Retail therapy
Published 1 year, 9 months ago in Shopping. If you could buy anything you wanted “duty free” on a quick round-trip to (say) New Zealand, then what would you buy?
I’ve been told I can buy myself a birthday gift, but (frankly) find I’m in the blessed position of not actually wanting a thing.
However I’d be interested in hearing any creative ideas, just in case one of them hit a nerve.

Good question, but unfortunately I don’t have the luxury of buying much as we live on one wage.I have a severe back injury and we have 2 children.Day dreaming though I would probably buy my kids a playstation 3 heaps of games and any thing else they wanted. My hubby would buy a video camera,( I think they are called camcorders now) and what I want you can’t buy. My back fixed.
Mac Mini 1.86Ghz 1G RAM 120G Hard Drive… no virus problems, surfs the net extremely well and replaces your windows box. All you needs is a monitor, USB keyboard & mouse.
A really good camera, one that does everything, is big, looks impressive and takes great photos too. You can never have too many memories. Have fun shopping.
Ah, the good old buy yourself a birthday gift. Borwing. Does’t anyone buy presents any more? Sounds like you might be tough to buy for so they are putting all the hard work on you to decide. And now you’re asking us! Why not do something instead instead of buying something?
Enjoy New Zealand!
All the birds (the tweeting kind, that is) in New Zealand are brown.
A vowel, there handy to work out the answer.
I must say, good on you Trev. You sound like you are not a terribly materialistic kind of guy.
I would suggest if you are picking your own present to go for something practical, or useful, something maybe that would assist you in pursuing your talents somehow?
For me - this would include certain materials for creating art. Maybe if you like the simple things, enjoy a fantastic meal and bottle of expensive booze?
hehehe
Picking your own present can be both pretty cool, and a chore.
